Can Affinity Publisher make a flipbook on its own?
No. Publisher lays out pages and exports PDF, EPS and image formats. It has no interactive flipbook output and no hosting. Export the PDF from Publisher, upload it to Flipbooks AI, and you get the page turning edition plus a link to share.
Do my hyperlinks survive the PDF export?
They do, as long as you switch on the option to include hyperlinks in the More section of the PDF export dialog. Some press presets drop interactive content, so check it rather than assuming. Once the links are in the PDF they stay clickable in the flipbook.
Should I export pages or spreads?
Export single pages. The flipbook pairs them itself, which lets the cover sit alone the way it does on a real magazine. Exporting spreads gives you one wide page per sheet, so the reader ends up turning two pages at a time and the cover looks wrong.
Is Flipbooks AI really free for designers?
Yes. It is completely free with no watermarks, no page limits and no hidden upgrade. Branding, embedded media, password protection, sharing and analytics are all included, for one zine or for every client project you take on this year.
Will my fonts and colours look right?
Yes, because the flipbook shows the PDF you exported rather than rebuilding your layout. Embed your fonts on export and nothing substitutes. For screen work, export in sRGB rather than a press CMYK profile so colours match what you saw on your monitor.
How many pages can the edition have?
There is no page limit. A 12 page zine and a 300 page annual report are both fine. Long documents load a page at a time, so a heavy catalogue still opens quickly on a phone rather than making the reader wait for the whole file.
Can I update the edition after sharing the link?
Yes. Fix the typo in Publisher, export again and republish. The link stays the same, so every email, embed and QR code you already sent out now points at the corrected edition with nothing to resend.
Can I keep a client edition private?
Yes. Put a password on the flipbook and only the people you give it to can open it. You can also turn off downloading, which keeps an unreleased collection or a pitch document from travelling further than you intended.
